Why does everyone headcanon or fanvoice Surge the Tenrec as being cool or feminine or sounding like Grey DeLisle.

I think of Surge as having attitude but being a little bit pathetic. So in my mind she sounds like an evil Dot Warner.

I'm willing to accept that might just be my funny little interpretation. But the most traditionally cool voice I'd be willing to accept for Surge would be a Japanese delinquent girl. Make her sound like Ryoko Matoi.

But apparently other people think she sounds like a refined feminine villain. (If you look at fandubs on the youtube or read people's voice headcanon posts.) And just like, where are you getting that? I just don't see it!

I'm really bad at picking muses, so here's literally every muse's favorite ice cream flavor:

BABYDOLL : this one is remarkably specific. it's those little pots of vanilla ice cream you used to get out of a school or hospital cafeteria, the ones you eat with the wooden spoon where you wind up tasting the spoon as much as the ice cream.

CARRIE WHITE : vanilla bean, although she didn't get a chance to try as many flavors as she would have liked.

CATIANA FREESPARK : she's not really one for sweets, so she'll just get whatever the most interesting sounding one on any given day is. if her friends vehemently are against a flavor, she'll absolutely get it just to fuck with them.

KAGAMI TSURUGI : melon. when she finally finds a place in paris that offers it, she brings marinette and alya to try it with her. it's sweeter than the ones back in yokohama, but she's happy to have a taste of home.

LIAN NICHANG : milk ice, which isn't really the same thing as ice cream but was the ancient chinese precursor. it's closer to a shaved ice than true ice cream.

LUNA : strawberry. usagi is usually nice enough to share some with her.

LUNASOL GALANODEL : chocolate cherry, but the sort where the base is cherry and it has chocolate in it, not the reverse.

MAXIMILIAN CALYPSE : ( modern!AU ) maxi has never met an ice cream flavor she didn't like, but she's especially fond of bubblegum.

MIYU : matcha, although she has been known to enjoy ube flavor from time to time.

NATHALIE SANCOEUR : affogato. it's basically a scoop of milk gelato drowned in espresso.

PERSEPHONE : she doesn't really have ice cream often, and prefers sorbet. will usually have something like rosé or elderflower.

RIZA HAWKEYE : plain vanilla. she rarely ever treats herself to it, but she prefers soft serve.

ROGUE : butter pecan. can't mess with a classic, right? and yes she will make fun of you if you say pe-cahn instead of pe-can. ( she's wrong. )

RYOKO HAKUBI : canonically, she has no sense of taste... so honestly, she'll just pick whatever the most colorful one is. it usually has some ridiculous name like "tye-dye" or "moon mist."

RYUKO MATOI : honestly, she'll eat whatever kind of ice cream you put in front of her, she's really not picky. when it comes to choice, however, she'll probably pick out mint chocolate chip.

SADAKO YAMAMURA : vanilla. when she was living, she especially liked getting taiyaki ice cream.

TABITHA DELAINE : coffee, especially when she and van are on a late-night stakeout.

VEX'AHLIA : chocolate fudge brownie. rich and indulgent, just like her. sorry, trinket, none for you.

took my time with it, but kaleidostar was a nice fun ride.

my only problem with it honestly was Fool's perverted tendencies and Rosetta.

like, I guess I wouldn't have minded Rosetta as the tsundere genius that gets shown up and becomes friendly with the MC, but im getting vibes from the creators about her and it makes me uncomfortable. also, i really just don't care about her as a character, i dont really even want to watch that final "episode 52", im just not interested

i honestly was expecting to hate everything about May, but the moment she was shouting her moves (AND BARKING LIKE A DOG??), i knew I couldn't hate her. I liked her growth and her maturing and reaching out to rosetta as fellow rivals to Sora

I love the dynamics that the guy partners brought to the table, because at the end of the day, they really were extras and Sora and Layla really were the stars of the show. 

I really like how Yuri was written as The Partner of the Famed Layla, and was a pretty chill guy until he reveals his plan and becomes the antagonist in the first part. The way he comes back in the second part, only to have another crazy reveal, but then backs down again. Yuri’s character was a rollercoaster but not once was he delegated to any romantic/love interest. Sure there was a couple of scenes of him and Layla “looking like the perfect couple” and something scandalous when he was trying to recruit Sora during Part 1, but he was never actually a romantic interest. (Aside from Ken feeling jealous.) 

Same with Leon, when May was also fighting Sora to be his partner, it was about their pride as performers and never about Getting With the Guy. (There was also that uncomfortable scene with Leon seeing Sophie in Sora but uhhhh) I like that they revealed Leon’s only partner was his sister, so when he sees Sophie in Sora, it doesn’t come off as strangely romantic. I mean, Leon and Sora could be a ship but we all know the girlies stay winning.

Uhhh I have nothing against Ken, he does his job brilliantly, but I wish his crush on Sora wasn’t used a gag too much. I mean once in a while is fine, but I felt like it was a joke too often. I’m glad there wasn’t an actual confession and that he could still see her as a friend and someone he wants to support. 

I dont have huge passionate words towards Layla and Sora, but the girlies are so very important to eac hother. (Me being ABSOLUTLY BETRAYED when Layla said Cathy was her new partner.) NGL I thought they being able to perform the Ultimate Move in the first part felt so rushed, not that it actually was, but I was like, if they do this in the first half, whats going to happen in the second half. Also the way Sora found out Layla could no longer perform, starts crying, Layla tells her to stop crying and she did, that entire scene felt like it was at 2x speed. (That Digimon Dub moment where the kid tells the other kid to “get over it”, and then he does.)

Sora’s had her ups and downs as a character, I feel like she’s “ran away” way too many times (Don’t Lose Your Way Matoi Ryoko who Loses Her Way Twice in the entire series). The few early ones just felt like they were there for dramatics and I really felt like Kalos shouldn’t have given her all those chances. The only one I really liked was after the Circus Festival when she realized what kind of stage she didn’t want to perform in and was given the devastated “Im disappointed in you” by Layla. Anyway, I’m so happy for Sora, but I don’t think we’ve ever actually seen her perform in the iconic Phoenix outfit in the ending previews? (The one with the orange stripes and fluff?) 

Anyway whatever, the art and animation is gorgeous, and so is the music. I’m glad it got the 51 episodes that it did, if it was a Today series, with the first part being 12/13 and maybe New Wings being another 12/13, I probably wouldn’t have been as impressed. Sure they could have cut out a lot of character focused eps (Anna’s father, Marion, Sara and Kalos, etc) or training montages, I don’t think the series would have stuck with me as much.

Ryoko Matoi from the anime Kill La Kill, based as a Repentia, but I can always drop her on a larger base to run her as a Becky, which would actually be funny.

As a anime character, she's rather flat in her design, so to keep that look I tried to go very light on shading and washing apart from what I needed to get her uniform the right colour.

I actually just added two new muses to the blog! I'd been thinking about adding Maximilian since last fall, but never committed myself to doing it. Once I got Mal to write Riftan, though, it was all over for me. The other new muse is Persephone, who I really just ported over from her single-muse blog.

As far as straight verses, that goes to Riza Hawkeye! Mostly because I broke hers down by year, since I had such a clear timeline for her life and could separate them into really well defined chunks. Everyone kind of has the same amount of AUs, although I'm always open to writing more up when the mood strikes.

19. for each muse, is there a character you wish had a blog so you could interact with them?

So, I am remarkably spoiled because if I go to Mal and go "hey I wish someone wrote [character]," odds are they will suddenly add that character to their multimuse. I'm a big part of the reason their blog has 800 muses. But, let's get specific!

Babydoll: literally any of the other girls from Lennox House. Mal writes Sweet Pea, but I'd love to write with a Rocket again.  Carrie White: Sue Snell. I know there's some floating around, but I haven't seen any in a while. Luna: Artemis. ARTEMIS. I would have absolutely zero chill. Marinette Dupain-Cheng: I'm sort of spoiled for choice, but I'd love to write with a Chloe. She deserves so much better. Miyu: literally anyone I swear to god. Reiha and Matsukaze, Shiina, Chisato, Lemures, Ranka, Carlua. Like, I would lose my mind. Riza Hawkeye: I haven't gotten to write with any Edward's yet, and that's a sin. Honestly, both of the Elric brothers. And any of Mustang's men. Rogue: Wolvie. Haven't really had any chance to write with most of the classic X-Men, so I'd love to write with any of them, but especially Wolverine. Ryoko Hakubi: yes. Just... yes. Literally any Tenchi Muyo characters would be appreciated. Tenchi, Ayeka, Sasami, Washu... Kagato. Ryuko Matoi: Haven't gotten to write with a Mako Mankanshoku in a really, really long time. Would love to see her again.
